How to Use & Care:
Condition with tung oil: Our ebony wood beads are pre-treated with a light coat of tung oil to promote daily conditioning and enhance the natural lustre. A faint natural scent is normal and will dissipate within a few days of wear.
Handle regularly to maintain lustre: The natural oils from your hands will gradually deepen the ebony’s colour and develop a beautiful, rich patina over time. Regular handling with your hands or a soft cloth keeps the wood looking its best.
Avoid water and liquids: Do not wear while swimming or bathing. Avoid contact with hand soap, washing-up liquid, and other liquid substances. Wood jewellery should be kept as dry as possible.
Elastic cord care: The elastic cord will naturally wear and may fade over time — this is normal for all elastic bead jewellery. Handle with care and avoid overstretching. Store in a small sealed pouch when not wearing.
Note on ebony colour: Ebony wood is not uniformly black. Most pieces are deep dark brown; older wood tends towards dark purple-black, younger wood towards warm yellow-brown. We ship at random across age groups — each bracelet is a unique expression of the wood.
