Description
Bamboo, in the hands of a master weaver, becomes something else entirely. The Yunyou Bamboo Weave Hair Clip & Brooch is hand-woven from thin strips of natural bamboo — some left in their pale, sun-dried state, others dyed a deep red — and interlaced into an undulating wave pattern that moves across the surface like water caught mid-ripple. The result is simultaneously architectural and organic: rigid enough to hold its form, light enough to forget you are wearing it.
The piece functions as both a hair clip and a brooch, and can also be worn as a pendant. Each one is made individually using a bamboo weaving technique recognised as part of China’s intangible cultural heritage — a craft tradition passed down through generations and now carried into contemporary jewellery design.
